On 03.03.2021 the digital event “Insight InTU Research – Business Model of the Future: Sustainable and Circular” took place.

Insight InTU Research is an initiative of the Open Digitalization Alliance Palatinate. The alliance consists of the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, the University of Kaiserslautern, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM). The alliance of these scientific institutions has set itself the goal of helping to shape topics that have a high social and economic relevance.

In this context, Prof. Dr. Katharina Spraul gave a lecture to increase the participants’ awareness of sustainable business and to present her research work. Among others, All-Polymer, which refers to the twelfth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, served as a case study. This goal is about making consumption and production in the global economy sustainable and efficient.

The focus at All-Polymer is on building circular business models in the plastics industry. Recyclable fiber composites are used to upgrade recycled plastics and thus bring them up to the performance level of primary plastics.
